Chatham Street Chowdown

Food and foodie films are on the menu this Sunday, at the Chatham Street Chowdown!

Your favorite food trucks (see list below) will be out in force along West Chatham Street in Downtown Cary from 5 to 9:30 p.m., along with a beer and wine garden.

“We will have over 24 local, favorite food trucks line Chatham Street, and we’ll also have a beer and wine garden along with ample seating areas throughout the event,” said Ashley McCall, cultural arts program assistant for the Town of Cary.

“We’ll also have two great bands performing on our large, mobile stage during the event — Scarlet and Peak City Sound.”

"Foodie Films"

In the spirit of the food truck rally, The Cary Theater is showing “foodie films" this week.

Tonight, see The Hundred Foot Journey at 7, the tale of talented cook Hassan Kadam and his rivalry with the snobbish Madame Mallory and her haute cuisine. At 9:30 tonight, watch Like Water for Chocolate, a romantic fable about a woman whose cooking has magical effects.

Friday night’s shows are The Lunchbox at 7, and Mystic Pizza at 9, and on Sunday, view Chef at 2 p.m., before heading to the Chowdown.

Tickets for each movie are $5; get full details at The Cary Theater.
