A 29-acre urban farm that’s preserving farmland, opening opportunities to the next generation of farmers, and engaging the community around agriculture and healthy food, Good Hope Farm is a partnership project with the Piedmont Conservation Council, The Conservation Fund, NC Community Development Initiative, Conservation Trust for NC and the Town of Cary.

“We want to continue to do things that will not only help our farmers learn more, but have area farmers participate,” said Erin Crouse, project manager for Good Hope Farm. “Eventually we would love to have classroom groups come, learn what’s going on out here, and be able to get their hands dirty.

“One of our long-term plans is for this to be a model that we could replicate in different forms in different communities across North Carolina,” Crouse said. “It would be wonderful if this were a catalyst for more agriculture and more public land being opened for agriculture.”

Following the movie will be a panel discussion about heirloom seeds and sustainable farming taking place right here in Cary. La Farm Bakery will provide a free loaf of bread to the first 100 attendees.

Showtime for “Seed” is Friday, July 21 at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $7 to $12, and can be purchased at thecarytheater.com.
