Grants for Give-Backs

Good news for nonprofits in the Cary and Morrisville areas — it’s time for grant workshops and applications.

According to Laird Hepburn, board president of the Cary Community Foundation, grant request applications can be sent in starting July 4, through Aug. 19.

Funding from the foundation will go to human services programs, health care, arts and education, and other charitable organizations, with $7,000 to be distributed this year.

The Cary Community Foundation was established in 2006 to promote charitable giving by individuals and organizations for the benefit of Cary, its citizens and institutions. To date, the foundation has awarded more than $300,000 in grants.

Meanwhile, Liz Johnson, board chair of the Morrisville Community Fund, has announced that for the third straight year, the foundation will offer grants, to nonprofits and governmental institutes serving the Morrisville area.

Application requests for both the Cary Community Foundation and the Morrisville Community Fund can be found online at nccommunityfoundation.org.

For the Morrisville Community Fund, the application is listed under Affiliates/Wake/Morrisville.

Workshop Set

Both foundations will also host a free Grant Seekers Workshop on Tuesday, July 15, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at the Cary Chamber of Commerce.

At the workshop, representatives from local nonprofits will have the opportunity to learn aspects regarding grant funding, such as where to find grants and how to apply for them via an online process.

To attend the workshop, RSVP to Katie Crumpler at kcrumpler@nccommunityfoundation.org.

Both the Cary Community Foundation and the Morrisville Community Fund have ties to the North Carolina Community Foundation.
