The third annual Suggly Sweater 5K & Fun Run happens this Saturday, Dec. 17, to benefit Meg’s Smile Foundation.

The nonprofit foundation provides gifts and fun days to children affected by serious illnesses.

New to the event this year is the addition of a stroller-friendly, flat-terrain Fun Run to be held after the 5K.

And following the Fun Run, enjoy holiday-themed snacks, music, picture-taking with Santa — and SNOW!

The Suggly Sweater 5K & Fun Run starts at 10:30 a.m., at Jefferson L. Sugg Farm at Bass Lake, located at 2401 Grigsby Ave., in Holly Springs.

Tickets for the 5K are $35 in advance through Dec. 14, and $45 up until the day of the race, which will be officially chipped and timed by Tar River Timing Company.

Fun Run tickets are $12, with children age 3 and younger participating free.
