Who Wants a Worm, Anyway?

The early bird doesn’t always get the worm; sometimes, she gets the best concert tickets.

Early bird tickets sales are now underway for the fifth annual Broadway Voices concert series, which brings world-class Broadway stars to the Garner Performing Arts Center for one-night-only performances.

The 2014-15 schedule features Capathia Jenkins, fresh from the smash Broadway hit Newsies, and Alli Mauzey, famous for her role as Glinda in Wicked.

Jenkins takes the Garner stage on Jan. 31 in the bigger-than-life show, Capathia Jenkins is More Woman Than You Know. She debuted on Broadway in The Civil War and gained more acclaim with her performance in Godspell

Also among Jenkins’ Broadway credits are Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me; Caroline, or Change; and The Look of Love.

Mauzey brings her own brand of humor and talent to Garner on March 6, having been dubbed by critics as “the best Glinda ever.” She has performed with symphony orchestras around the country after making her Broadway debut in Crybaby.

Broadway Voices’ Dec. 13 performance is TBA.

Early bird season tickets for Broadway Voices include all three shows and are $65; they are available through Oct. 15 at garnerperformingartscenter.com/BroadwayVoices or by phone at (919) 661-4602.
