Near: Middle Creek School Park
Builder: Standard Pacific Homes

Tucked away in southern Cary, near the intersection of Optimist Farm and West Lake Roads, is the bustling neighborhood The Park at Westlake. The community contains more than 450 single-family homes divided into pocket neighborhoods. National builder Standard Pacific Homes is ready and waiting to build your dream home in The Commons, a pocket neighborhood of maintained homesites within The Park at Westlake.

Thanks to a large community pool and clubhouse (which happens to be right next to The Commons), Wake County schools within walking distance and quick access to highways, The Park at Westlake has been a popular family destination since it broke ground. The Commons is currently under construction with brand new homes ranging from 1,700 squarefeet to more than 3,300 square feet starting in the mid $230,000s. Standard Pacific Homes offers eight newly released floor plans that bring a modern edge to traditional home layouts.

“This last year we decided to design some new plans. We came up with 16 different plans and really designed floor plans the way families live today,” said Lindy Sfirlea, area sales manager for Standard Pacific Homes. The company wanted to cater to modern, casual living by offering connectivity between the kitchen, great room and breakfast area; downstairs master bedrooms; and guest suites. Their new “flex spaces” can be personalized according to a family’s lifestyle. Office or dining room? Loft or extra bedroom? You decide.

“Plans are more open. You walk in and we’ve made it nontraditional with all these flex spaces. But for the buyer that is still very traditional, in some of the areas you would be able to put walls back. So if you want that separation, you can have it. But if you want the big open space, which is great for holidays or family gatherings or entertaining, (the plans) are flexible,” said Sfirlea.

Marketing Manager Tim Lantz adds, “The overall theme is we’re improving the everyday living with our new plans, and that’s part of The Artistry of Home.” The Artistry of Home describes the company philosophy that dedicates more square footage to the areas families use most, and setting those areas off with quality architectural elements. Details such as archways, wall niches, cascading cabinets and built-in bathroom spa benches give the homes a custom feel at a lower price tag.

The Park at Westlake is within walking distance of West Lake Elementary and Middle schools and is across Optimist Farm Road from Middle Creek High School. This close proximity is one of the main draws of The Park at Westlake. And the area is full of amenities for active families. Middle Creek School Park offers tennis courts, athletic fields, a disc golf course, a picnic shelter and playground. The neighborhood will also connect with the Cary Greenway system.
