About:

PORCH-WesternWake is an all-volunteer organization that collects and distributes food monthly to assist families in need living in Western Wake. The group operates on a neighborhood basis, with monthly donations collected from each donor's front porch.

Current donations are divided between the Western Wake Crisis Ministry and USO-NC.

PORCH-WesternWake donated 14,674 pounds of food in 2011 and 26,626 pounds of food in 2012.  The organization was founded in December 2010 when a women's social group was inspired by the mission of PORCH, People Offering Relief for Chapel Hill Carrboro Homes.
