Jun 11, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The Meredith Townes Mudpuppies, a Raleigh swim team, is continuing the fight to find a cure for cancer by hosting a Swim Across America Olympic Swim and Olympic clinics at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary, NC on June 11, 2017 from 2:00pm-6:00pm.

Youth, adults and teams from across the state will converge in Cary, North Carolina at the Triangle
Aquatic Center to participate in the Olympic Clinics for both swimming and water polo. Also, new for this year, we will have a Brianʼs Mile of Hope swim, which is an indoor open water 1 mile swim.

Proceeds from these clinics, organized by the Meredith Townes Mudpuppies, will be donated to Swim Across America to help fund Cancer Research.

At the Mudpuppies Olympic Clinic swimmers will not only be learning new swimming and water polo skills, but will also be donating their time and effort to help raise money for cancer research. Spectators are encouraged to attend and the event will be free and open to the public.

Approximately 300 athletes will participate in events surrounding the Olympic Clinics, which will
include a 1.5 hour of Olympic swimming clinic, a 1.5 hour of Olympic water polo clinic, and a 1
mile indoor open water swim called Brianʼs Mile of Hope Swim. Attendance will include Tim
Payne, 2016 Invictus Gold Medalist + retired army staff sergeant who served 11 years, as well
as master swimmer Erika Braun, 2012 Olympic Trials qualifier at age 41.
