May 13, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Family-Friendly Fun at the Annual Ritmo Latino Festival

  • On May 13, enjoy an afternoon of Latin music, art, dance, and food in downtown Cary.
  • Special guests include Orquest Mayor, La Tropa de Tierra Caliente, and Sandra y Sergio.
  • This family-friendly event features a children’s area and soccer clinic.

A pair of live entertainment stages will bookend the Ritmo Latino festival on Saturday, May 13, from noon-6:30 p.m. on Town Hall Campus, 316 N. Academy St. In its 13th year, Ritmo Latino offers an afternoon of authentic Latin music, arts and dance. Musical acts this year include Orquesta Mayor, La Tropa de Tierra Caliente, and Sandra y Sergio. Danza Azteca Los Rayados, Flor y Canto, and Los Panameños are among the dance groups that will perform live. This year’s children’s area is even larger, with performances, crafts and face-painting. Traditional and modern handicrafts and artwork are offered by vendors. The family-friendly festival will be held rain or shine.

Attendees are encouraged to park free of charge at the parking deck on Wilkinson Avenue and in the parking lots adjacent to the Page-Walker Arts & History Center and the Police Department.

To safely host Ritmo Latino, the Town of Cary will close North Academy Street between Chapel Hill Road and the railroad tracks from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Vehicles approaching on Academy Street from the south will be directed to turn right onto Cedar Street to access parking off Wilkinson Street.

Ritmo Latino is co-sponsored by Diamante, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, development, and promotion of the culture, heritage, and artistic expressions of the diverse Latino/Hispanic population in North Carolina.
