About:

TAP, or the Triangle Aphasia Project, Unlimited is a program that was built by and for individuals with aphasia. Aphasia is a communication disorder that does not impact intelligence or memory, but instead impairs the ability for an individual to use language in the forms of speech, writing, reading and listening. Imagine, knowing exactly what you want to say without being able to get it out, or seeing letters on a page that you can’t put together as recognizable words and sentences.

TAP Unlimited is a community-based program that works with individuals for as long as they choose to receive support, helps them get back into the community with work and play and improves their communicative confidence in all situations. In addition, TAP Unlimited works with the families of those with aphasia with training programs and supportive resources. Finally, TAP Unlimited works with the community, training healthcare providers, building awareness and assuring success for people to be a part of the larger community again.

Volunteer Opportunities:

TAP has volunteer opportunities in administrative tasks, communicative support for individuals with aphasia and for special events.
