5th Annual Harvest Dinner
Oct 15, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Raleigh City Farm, a community-supported urban farm that supports several next generation farmers, will host its fifth annual Harvest Dinner at 6pm on October 15, 2017 with a special VIP reception beginning at 5pm. Chef Cheetie Kumar of Garland, a 2017 James Beard Award semi-finalist who was recently profiled in Food & Wine, will be the featured chef. Both the dinner and VIP hour will take place on the Farm property at 800 North Blount Street adjacent to Person Street Plaza. All proceeds from the dinner will benefit Raleigh City Farm and support its mission to grow the next generation of farmers by connecting our community to sustainable agriculture.
Chef Cheetie has created a seasonal, multi-course dinner menu showcasing fresh and sustainable-grown produce along with local provisions. Wine Authorities, whose Raleigh location is just steps from the Farm, will provide exclusive wines from family-owned wineries around the world and Fullsteam Brewery will provide seasonal beers. Guests attending the special VIP reception from 5-6pm prior to dinner will enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and seasonal cocktails from William & Company, and will have an opportunity to meet Chef Cheetie. Farmers will also be on hand to provide guided tours of the farm site.
During the dinner, Raleigh City Farm will hold a brief live auction, offering experiences and items such as a 3-night getaway for 4 guests at a vacation home in the mountains of Boone, NC; a special one-of-a-kind culinary item curated by Chef Cheetie; and several one-of-a-kind paintings by local artists. A number of silent auction items will also be offered.
