Cary Players presents “A Christmas Story!”

Dec 1, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - Dec 4, 2017 @ 7:30 pm

$20

Dec.1-4 at the Cary Arts Center, Cary Players proudly presents the holiday classic, A Christmas Story, Jean Shepherd’s memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1930s.

“This is the seventh time Cary Players has produced A Christmas Story,” says director Debra Grannan. “New audiences will delight in the sheer joy of this play, and return audience members will enjoy seeing how the play has been refashioned with a new set and new actors.”

In the role of adult Ralph, Joey DeSena asks us to look “back to another time, another place,” and to follow 11-year-old Ralphie Parker (played by Owen Hopkins) on his quest to find a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Chuckle while Ralphie pleads with his mother (Shelley Sink), Old Man (Tracy Fulghum) his teacher (Stephanie Holloman) and the man himself – Santa Claus (Chris McKittrick)- at Higbee’s Department Store. But how do the adults in his life respond to his continued pleas? “You’ll shoot your eye out!”
