Soak in the spring weather as you stroll, shop and sip at Waverly Place in Cary.
It’s all for a good cause, as the annual Wine Walk series benefiting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund begins Friday, March 30. The series continues on the last Friday of April, May, August, September and October.
With a $10 donation to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, participants receive a sampling cup and a Waverly Wine Walk Passport. Donations will be accepted on-site at booths located at entry points near Gigi’s Cupcakes and Whole Foods Market. To sample wines, guests must be over 21 years of age.
Participating shops and restaurants at the open-air shopping center will have wine samples and exclusive promotions on hand from 5 to 8 p.m. Choose from red, white and sparkling samples at select Waverly Place merchants.
This year, participating retailers include TASU Asian Bistro, Kale Me Crazy, Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, Gigi’s Cupcakes, Amazing Lash Studio, BodyLase, Hand & Stone, The Joint Chiropractic, Parlor Blow Dry Bar, Elegant Stitches, vomFASS, Fresca Cafe & Gelato, Color Me Mine, Triangle Wine Co., Gigi’s Boutique, Violets Boutique and Whole Foods Market.
The Kay Yow Cancer Fund was founded in 2007 in honor of N.C. State Coach Kay Yow, who passed away from breast cancer in 2009. The fund is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to the fight against all women’s cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved, and unifying people for a common cause. Since its inception, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund has awarded more than $5.63 million in scientific research and related projects.
