Knit In with the Triangle Literacy Council!
Jun 22, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeHelping babies, knitting, and free snacks? Sign me up! The Triangle Literacy Council (TLC) is hosting its second “Knit In” on June 22nd from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in our main office of The Frontier (800 Park Offices Drive, Suite 202, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709) and we want you there! The TLC has created a brand new program called Bouncing Baby Bookworms and our goal is to use this program to encourage new moms to read to their newborn babies and we plan on doing that by providing each new mom with a Bookworm Bundle delivered by our Storks! These bundles will be filled with baby books, a rubber duck, a blanket and parent resources to jumpstart their baby’s literacy, but we need volunteers like YOU to help make the baby blankets to add to them! If you love to knit and enjoy good food, good company and volunteering for a good cause, then bring along your needles and yarn and come meet up with us at The Frontier. We’ll be in the conference room of our main office on the second floor. Please RSVP by Friday, June 15th. If you have any questions or would like to RSVP, please call (919) 787-5559 and ask for Olivia Walters or email owalters@triangleliteracy.org. Happy Knitting!
We look forward to seeing you there and remember, “It’s Never Too Early To Learn How To Read!”
*We are looking for blankets that are between 30″ x 30″ or 36″ x 36.” Soft/light fibers are preferable. We encourage creativity with designs so that each blanket is different!
**If you don’t knit or won’t have the time to stop by, feel free to donate a new or unused baby blanket or books at our main office anytime to help out with our cause!
