On Thursday, September 20, Herons, along with Gundlach Bundschu Winery’s VP of National Sales Bill Shenas, will host a five-course wine dinner in the Herons Private Dining Room. Each course will be paired with a wine from the Gundlach Bundschu Winery, and menu items include:
- Canapes
- Tuna (green tomato, cucumber, basil seeds, fresh wasabi, buttermilk) paired with Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast 2016
- 62-Degree Egg (John Haulk grits, Lady Edison ham, Carolina shrimp) paired with Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast 2015
- Duck (pickled rec plum, farro verde, umeboshi, shiso, foie dumpling, corn) paired with Merlot, Sonoma Coast 2014
- Lab (black garlic, caramelized yogurt, Romanesco, apricot, mint, pistachio) paired with Cabernet Saugivnon, Sonoma Valley 2014
- Blueberry (frosted geranium, blueberry vinegar ice, chamomile, crème fraiche) paired with Gewurztraminer, Estate, Sonoma Coast 2017
A reception in the sunroom begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the seated dinner at 7 p.m. in the Herons Private Dining Room. Tickets are $175++ and include wine pairings, and can be booked by calling the restaurant.
