Cary’s longest-running community theatre company opens its 2018-2019 season of live theatre with the beloved musical from lyricist Tim Rice and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Award-winning director Nancy Rich offers a light-hearted and energetic retelling of the biblical tale of Jacob’s son Joseph, who was sold as a slave into Egypt by his brothers and then rose to power. Rice’s and Webber’s blending of multiple musical and dance genres from country to reggae is as fresh and entertaining today as it was fifty years ago when the show was first produced on the stages of London in 1968.
