This month, two Cary dental practices will offer free services to the public.
Cary Dental Rejuvenation will be providing free dental care for adults on Friday, July 19, in partnership with the nonprofit Dentistry from the Heart.
The practice will see patients from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and expects to see at least 50 patients during the event. There is no income requirement for treatments. Patients can receive either a free cleaning, one extraction or one filling.
This is Cary Dental Rejuvenation’s third year hosting a Dentistry from the Heart event.
“It is important to us to give back to our community. We know a lot of people struggle with getting dental care, and this is a chance for us to give a helping hand to those that are in need,” said Dr. Bikram Singh, who owns the practice.
Dentistry from the Heart was founded by Florida dentist Dr. Vincent Monticciolo in 2001 to help adults who lack access to dental care. So far, 500,000 people have benefited from the organization’s services. Lack of dental care is an issue many Americans face, as the number of individuals hospitalized due to preventable dental infections is increasing, according to the nonprofit’s website. Untreated decay and abscesses can lead to serious medical complications.
On Saturday, July 20, Preston Dental Loft in Cary will also offer free dental care. In order to qualify, patients must be low-income and unable to afford regular dental visits. Upon arrival, patients will need to show a valid driver’s license and fill out a medical history form. All appointments for the event have been filled, but interested individuals may call (919) 467-6111 to join the waiting list.
