About: Esteamed Coffee is a 501(c)(3) non-profit cafe located in downtown Cary, NC. Esteamed employs individuals with various disabilities, most of whom have never been given a meaningful employment opportunity before. Esteamed is on a mission to lower the over 70% unemployment rate for people with disabilities by creating meaningful job opportunities for people with intellectual, developmental, communication and/or visual impairments in a warm supportive environment. In addition to their workforce development program, they provide unique social events and volunteer opportunities for adults with special needs. Finally, they have created an inclusive space to showcase up to six local artists with disabilities every quarter, rotating art for sale in the shop each season.

Volunteer Opportunities: We are always looking for Esteam Team Guides. These are typically developing adult volunteers that mentor volunteers with differing abilities in greeting customers, informing first time customers of our shop’s mission, cleaning tables and contact surfaces, sweeping as needed, keeping the restrooms presentable, and answering customer questions. Shifts are picked up by Esteam Team Guides on a bimonthly basis via a SignUp Genius that is organized by our Volunteer Coordinator.  Shifts are on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. and noon – 3:00 p.m. Other volunteer opportunities include Community Development, Marketing, Board Member (Previous volunteer role a prerequisite), Social Media and Content Curation, Website Development, and Social Events. We will post additional volunteer opportunity details on our "Volunteer Tab" on our website.
