Attention, cinephiles: Have we got news for you!

The Cary Theater, in partnership with The Modern School of Film, is launching a new cinema studies series, called Frame-By-Frame.

Beginning next Tuesday, Feb. 16, The Cary will screen the first of six film productions, featuring analysis and discussions led by MSF founder Robert Milazzo. The school is a film-craft training lab and a public master class discussion series.

“The Frame-By-Frame series is a unique opportunity for film lovers of all levels to better understand and appreciate the art of film,” said Joy Ennis, Cary Theater operations and program supervisor.

“We’re excited to offer unique programming that positions The Cary as a destination for the art house film experience. We look forward to continuing to offer interesting educational opportunities and entertaining programming that goes beyond the traditional movie-going experience.”

Six Films

Six films are featured in the series: The Bicycle Thieves, The 400 Blows, Rashomon, The Searchers, Park Row and Mean Streets.

Screenings begin at 7 p.m., and will be held every two weeks through April 26 at The Cary Theater, located at 122 E. Chatham St., in downtown Cary.

Created with the cinephile in mind, Frame-By-Frame will include an active deconstruction format, which allows Milazzo to stop the film at points and lead in-depth discussions about the techniques being used.
