The 6th Annual Zombiepalooza will feature local filmmakers’ scary short films featuring zombies, of course.

The free indoor screenings will be Friday, Oct. 22, at the Cary Theater, 122 East Chatham St., in Cary. There will be an early screening and costume contest at 7 p.m., and a late screening and costume contest at 9 p.m.

Costumes are encouraged. Masks are required.

Filmmakers range from teens to older adults who have made movies with all types of cameras, including smartphones.

Every year there’s one required element that must appear in every film. This year it’s…hand sanitizer!

This is a FREE family-friendly event. Dress as your favorite horror character, or channel your inner zombie rebel, and be part of the costume contest.
