Cocktail aficionados can learn from one of the country’s most inventive bartenders, Shannon Healy, owner of Alley Twenty Six, a James Beard finalist for Outstanding Bar Program in 2022. Once a month, Healy is offering interactive online cocktail classes so that cocktail enthusiasts can get a taste of what Alley Twenty Six has to offer in the comfort of their homes.

Upcoming classes:
• Sept. 28: Wry Rye
• Nov. 9: Bourbon Bonanza
• Dec. 14: Sparkling Season
• Jan. 11: Hot Toddies
• Feb. 8: That’s Amaro!
• March 14: Oh, Sherry Baby!

Here’s how the classes work:
◦ Guests purchase a $15 ticket to the class, which covers anyone in the household who would like to attend.
◦ The Alley Twenty Six team sends out a Zoom link and list of supplies to purchase before the class.
◦ Alley Twenty Six has supply kits available for purchase in its online store; the kits include non-perishable ingredients. Spirits have to be purchased separately. For those who live near Durham, those kits can be picked up at the downtown Durham bar. For those who live elsewhere, the kits can be shipped.
