Yasmeen Ghazy and Eddie Brock
Yasmeen Ghazy and Eddie Brock’s love story might be mistaken for a romantic comedy screenplay. They met chasing after their dogs on a walk, had their first date at a dog park and got engaged at the top of the Ferris wheel at the N.C. State Fair just as the nightly fireworks began behind them.
The couple incorporated fair-themed elements into their fall wedding the next year. Caramel apples doubled as escort cards, an enlarged picture of the Ferris wheel served as a guest book and a pretzel truck sent guests off at the end of the night.
Meaningful family touches such as an ancestry table with photos of the couple’s grandparents and mementos from their parents’ weddings further personalized the day. The bride’s favorite moment was surprising her mother with a rendition of “The Wedding Song” by Paul Stookey, which was played at her mom’s wedding as well.
“The whole day was just amazing,” said Yasmeen.
