“A Christmas Carol” at Temple Theatre
Dec 8, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - Dec 17, 2017 @ 2:00 pm
$15 – $27The Temple Theatre’s original musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ most well known story is back by popular demand. In A Christmas Carol, Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!”, Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he’s forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present, and Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful “Happy Christmas!” before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him.
Peggy Taphorn directs a cast featuring youth performers from throughout the region, alongside professional actors from across the country. Says Taphorn, “A Christmas Carol has become a tradition here at the Temple. While the it’s the same classic tale every time we produce it, it gets a little bigger and better every year.” This marks the third straight season that the Temple has produced A Christmas Carol. Next year, they plan to perform White Christmas. Don’t miss this holiday extravaganza! A Christmas Carol runs at the Temple Theatre from November 29 through the Dec 17. Because of the demand for tickets, the Temple Theatre has added shows to its normal schedule. Contact the Temple Box Office for more details.
