May 27, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
New Hope Valley Railway brings the beach to the railyard on Saturday, May 27, with its new Brew ‘n’ Choo Bonsal Beach Party.
The family-friendly event offers one-hour, diesel-powered train excursions along with festivities in the railyard including food, dessert, craft beer, local wine and live music.
Located 30 minutes southwest of downtown Raleigh, the first train during the May 27 Brew ‘n’ Choo departs at 3 p.m. followed by three other departure times at 4:15, 5:30 and 7 p.m. The food, drinks and entertainment begin around 3 p.m. and will last an hour after the last train ride returns to the station. A DJ will start the event with popular beach music, games, prizes and giveaways and the live band Last Band Standing will follow.
A beach-cookout menu including hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, coleslaw and baked beans will be available for purchase.
Train tickets cost $10-$12 and all visitors must purchase a train ticket to be admitted onto the grounds. Purchase tickets for adults, seniors (ages 60+) and children (ages 2-12) at www.TriangleTrain.com/buytickets. Children must always be accompanied by an adult and food and drinks are not included in the train ticket price.
