Cary has attracted people from all over the world to call our town home. Our rich cultural diversity will be celebrated during the first-ever “Cary: Meet Yourself” event.

Learn about different cultures through performance, discussion and food at this free event.

A panel discussion featuring leaders from several area cultural groups will focus on what we can learn from each other. Cultural groups represented on the panel include: Hum Sub, The Turkish American Association of Cary, Sister Cities Association of Cary, Asian Focus, and Diamante. They will discuss challenges they have met and successes they have enjoyed in Cary as they create large scale community events and build awareness about their groups.

The afternoon will be punctuated by several cultural dance and musical performances that will enchant the crowd.  The day culminates when the winner of a student art show is announced. Middle and High school aged artists have submitted artistic renderings of what Diversity and Cary Meet Yourself means to them. A “Best in Show” award will include a $500 scholarship to one individual.
