Che Apalache – Live at the Bullpen

Apr 20, 2018 @ 8:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Free

Che Apalache, which means “my Appalachian homeboy,” is a four-man string band based in Buenos Aires with members from Argentina, Mexico and the United States. The group is led by North Carolina native Joe Troop, who immigrated to Argentina in 2010. While making a name for himself in the local music scene, Joe made a living teaching bluegrass and oldtime. After a few years and numerous late night beers, he and his students had become picking buddies. As a band they have concocted a unique blend of Latin American and Appalachian music. Their debut album “Latingrass” is a respectfully crafted testament to how cultural exchange can yield authentic fusion.
