Cary’s Children’s Day Festival a Place for Kids, by Kids
- The Children’s Day Festival of Cary is a recent tradition where kids and their diverse cultures are celebrated through youth performances and a variety of kid-centric activities.
- Free festival is April 22 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park.
- Event organized by the American Turkish Association of NC and Sister Cities of Cary in partnership with the Town of Cary and funded by a grant from the Town’s Lazy Daze grant program.
Deriving from the rich ethnic and cultural tapestry of our community, the Children’s Day Festival of Cary is returning to Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park on April 22 with a full schedule of fun activities to enrich and entertain children from toddlers to teens. The celebration focuses on the importance of the next generation with the intent of helping them develop an appreciation for the colorful mosaic of unique cultures. Activities are scheduled from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and include games, face painting, crafts and performances by over 250 children representing about 20 Triangle-area cultural arts groups. The event is modeled after the global celebrations that have been taking place in Turkey as a national holiday since the 1930s where children come together to have fun, build memories and cherish diversity.
