Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre is transformed into a magnificent setting as the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival continues in January.

Now in its fourth year, the festival includes more than two dozen displays, each comprised of hundreds of parts, and thousands of LED lights. Fan favorite the Chinese Dragon on Symphony Lake is longer than three school buses and weighs 18,000 pounds. Standing 21 feet high, the head had to be installed by a crane with a 15-person crew.

The festival also includes cultural performances and arts and crafts activities. Concessions are available.

The North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival runs through Jan. 14, 2018.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 3 to 17, and free for children aged 2 and younger.
