George Washington is in town and he wants to meet you for drinks at the State Capitol!

Enjoy a casual evening reception with the first president in honor of the Capitol’s newest exhibit “George Washington is Here! Images of the Founding Father in the North Carolina State Capitol,” Thursday, April 27, 7-9 p.m., with beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres in the Capitol’s rotunda.

Take a selfie with the George Washington re-enactor, or chat with him about the first president’s life. A special curator’s tour of this exhibit will round out this special evening. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online through EventBrite at NCStateCapitol.org, and include admission, food and drink. Beer will be provided by Raleigh Brewing Company. Chamber Music Raleigh will provide music for a true Throwback Thursday.
