FAQ

What can sound heal?

Using sound as therapy can provide results for a variety of issues including:
– Depression & Anxiety
– Stress Management
– PTSD
– Insomnia
– Pain Management

What is Yin Yoga helpful with?

Yin yoga can help us become more resilient to stress. Yin yoga can help us tap into the parasympathetic nervous system. As you move deeper into the yin practice, the breath slows down significantly drawing you deeper and deeper into this parasympathetic, or relaxation, mode. This is where the internal organs get a chance to catch up on their to-do list (digest, eliminate toxins, heal, repair). The yin practice forces us to slow down & practice Mindfulness & being in the present moment one breath at a time. The stillness of a yin practice primes us for meditation. Meditation is not necessarily something you have to find; sometimes it finds you. Yin yoga stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas.

How does Sound Therapy work?
Sound helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. By using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state).

What is it like?
A sound therapy treatment is both a passive and participatory experience. The passive aspect is that you become more relaxed by laying down and slowing your breath. By doing this, you prepare yourself to become the receiver of sound. It’s in this place of stillness that you participate by becoming more open and aware of each sound that comes in. Sound helps create the pathway to this place of stillness the same as a mantra helps you to arrive at the still point of meditation.

Sound has the ability to positively affect our whole being.
