Francine Zoppi, Trish Klenow, Meera Goyal and Geraldine Velasquez Art Exhibit

Feb 16, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - Mar 16, 2018 @ 5:00 pm

Francine Zoppi’s work will grace the walls in watercolor and oil. She brings into sharp focus some fluid and dreamy flower studies. Bask in their vibrant, rich tones. Zoppi, a native New Yorker, has lived in North Carolina since 2010. She taught for 21 years at a private school within Nova University. She is a member of The Fine Arts League of Cary and The Watercolor Society of North Carolina.

Trish Klenow’s Seasons series tells of the integration of nature throughout our lives. Beyond technological, economical, spiritual, and societal norms, nature determines many of our choices through its own cycles. Come follow the progression, in oils that curl grass and weeds around legs, intertwine hair with branches, and dissolve bodies into spores and petals. Klenow brings a bit of fantasy to her work, and this time she captures the essence of each of our four seasons. The artist grew up in the Midwest, and she’s made North Carolina home for the past five years.

Meera Goyal covers the spectrum in a myriad of color and fl orals. She is mainly a watercolorist, while she also enjoys experimenting in a variety of other art media, including clay, leather, batik, and graphite. Goyal was born in India. In Iowa she founded Thursday Painters in Cedar Falls and was an Iowa Artists and Watercolor Society member. She is now a member of the Fine Arts League of Cary.

Geraldine Velasquez brings us Cover to Cover: An Exhibition of Altered Books and Mixed-Media Collage. In it she illustrates the cooperative power of words with images. Her altered books meld image with text to lead the observer to “read the image” to find the story. Velasquez uses quotes from famous authors and fragments of her own travel photographs to create her work. Velasquez lived in New York City prior to calling North Carolina home.
