Freight Train Blues – Harvey Dalton Arnold & A.J. Ghent
Jun 8, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeMusic Maker Relief Foundation and Carrboro Rec & Parks present the Freight Train Blues Music Series: four Fridays of music, food, beer, and community in the heart of Carrboro! Harvey Dalton Arnold grew up in the eastern North Carolina town of Rose Hill, where the sounds of deep bluegrass, blues, and the black gospel tradition permeated his childhood. In 1976, Arnold joined the pioneering Southern rock group The Outlaws, and played bass for them for nearly a decade. A.J. Ghent is a third-generation singer-songwriter and lap and pedal steel guitar player. Originally from Fort Pierce, Florida, and currently based out of Atlanta, Ghent comes from a legacy of famous lap steel guitar players, including great uncle Willie Eason, father Aubrey Ghent Sr. and grandfather Henry Nelson, the founder of the “Sacred Steel” rhythmic style that now reaches across the country.
