The 2017 edition of this popular Indian community event will unfold on Saturday, Oct 14, at the Koka Booth Amphitheater. The theme of Cary Diwali 2017 is Anubhuti, or perception.

Come explore the many aspects of Indian culture as expressed in her dance, music, arts and crafts, and cuisine. This year, we bring to you a packed, day-long program of Bollywood exuberance and classical dance forms presented by Triangle-area schools and groups, culminating in the not-to-be-missed evening dance performance by the Russian group, Mayuri, who are returning to the Cary Diwali stage after thrilling audiences here with their mesmerizing moves in 2011.

Ever wondered what makes Indian cuisine so devilishly delicious? Let our volunteers at the Exhibition booth, whose theme is Spices of India, take you on a culinary journey where you will discover how India’s famed spices add not just flavor to the food but also contribute to holistic health. They say the gut is the new brain. Discover how the ancient Indian science of yoga helps keep mind and body in balance, and how this in turn is connected to what one eats.
