In a Holiday Mood Big Band Event
Dec 15, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - Dec 17, 2017 @ 2:00 pm
$20The sounds of the big band era will fill the air this holiday season when the Raleigh-based 21-piece Tune Swingers Orchestra performs a holiday-inspired family event sponsored by the North Carolina Museum of History for four performances Friday-Sunday December 15-17, 2017 at North Carolina Museum of History’s Daniels Auditorium, 5 E. Edenton Street, Raleigh.
These family-focused events are especially designed as a holiday treat for parents and grandparents and their children (grandchildren) to enjoy the swinging sounds and dancing styles of the big band era in celebration of the holiday season.
The Tune Swingers Orchestra will play everyone’s favorites Christmas music as arranged by the country’s most celebrated big band leader Glenn Miller including Jolly Old St. Nicholas, Ode to Joy, Parade of the Wooden Soldiers, The Nutcracker Suite, We Wish You a Merry Christmas and many more.
The Orchestra will also be joined by the Thomas Singers and a trained dance troupe, the Mirliton Dancers, who will help get the crowd dancing in the ballroom, swing-era style.
