Be one of the first to try the signature cocktails that Sean Umstead will be featuring at he and his wife’s, Michelle Vanderwalker, upcoming Durham bar, Kingfisher. Expect cocktails with farm-to-table produce from nearby farms.

Sean Umstead, one of North Carolina’s most imaginative bar experts and the creative force behind the soon-to-open Kingfisher, announces his Kingfisher Pop-Up Series to precede the bar opening in late 2018. Through these bartending events, guests from New Orleans to New York will get a taste of Kingfisher’s unique, farm-driven cocktails and a preview of ceramic artist and co-owner Michelle Vanderwalker’s signature style.

Kingfisher, which will be located next to The Durham Hotel at 321 East Chapel Hill Street, will kick off its first pop-up at the The Roof at The Durham on Wednesday, September 12th from 6pm to 9pm. Look for Umstead’s signature cocktails celebrating the season, highlighting his farm-to-cocktail approach using fresh and skillfully preserved fruits and produce from nearby farms.

Accompanying Umstead on his pop-up series is the award-winning Durham Distillery, voted a Top 3 Craft Gin Distillery in the U.S. by USA TODAY. “We couldn’t be more excited to coordinate with Sean in support of his new cocktail bar Kingfisher, and to share our broad range of craft gin, and mutual excitement about our Durham, NC community,” said President and CEO Melissa Katrincic, who will be available on the tour to meet guests, often introducing this North Carolina spirit to new markets.
