Join Thomas and Friends in the Garden at New Hope Valley Railway
Tickets Now on Sale for Sept. 11 event
(Bonsal, N.C., August 29, 2022) — New Hope Valley Railway (NHVR), the Triangle’s Train, will feature Thomas the Tank EngineTM along with many of his friends on the railway’s Garden Railroad (G scale) Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022.
Visitors to NHVR can take a ride in passenger cars pulled by a real diesel train and watch Thomas and Friends™ model trains operate on more than 1,000 feet of miniature track located near the parking lot and ticket depot.
These friendly little locomotives will chug along the garden railroad, pulling a variety of Thomas-themed cars through the layout of tunnels, bridges, plants, trees, houses, churches and an engine house.
Thomas the Tank Engine fans can expect to see Thomas pulling Annie and Clarabel, Percy and the Troublesome Trucks; James pulling an ice cream-themed train; Sir Topham Hat driving Winston; Emily pulling her coaches and Toby the tram.
“New Hope Valley Railway’s ability to run this Thomas-themed rolling stock is due to the generous donation to our railroad museum by lifetime member Joe Austin,” said Tom Hutchinson, Garden Railway superintendent.
“This event is a great way for families and friends to spend a fun afternoon together riding a real train and watching smaller model trains,” he added.
Full size train ride tickets for Thomas in the Garden Day (G scale Model Trains) are $9 – $12 and departure times are at 11 a.m.,12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. A train ride ticket is not required to view the Thomas in the Garden model trains, and the model trains will be running one hour before, during and 30 minutes after the full-size train ride times.
