The North Carolina Summer Opera, the newest opera organization established in 2018, is proud to present its first production, Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot in semi-staged workshop, sung in Italian with English subtitles and piano accompaniment.

Synopsis: Turandot, a Chinese Princess, has reached the age to be married. But she is horrified by how princesses (women) were treated by their husbands. To obtain permission to marry her, a suitor has to solve three riddles. Any wrong answer results in death. She has been killing suitors one by one until an unknown Prince appears…
