A southern delicacy will be on full display in Downtown Cary on Saturday, June 9 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. for Cary’s first Pimento Cheese Festival. More than 25 food trucks will line Academy Street featuring new dishes with pimento cheese as the star alongside their regular menu items. A restaurant row featuring seven Downtown Cary restaurants will also be serving their finest pimento cheese, and festival goers can compete in a pimento cheese sculpting contest. Parking is available in Downtown Cary and the parking deck at Town Hall. Accessible parking is available at the Cary Arts Center parking lot located off Faculty Avenue. Patrons can use the sidewalk to proceed across Dry Avenue to the event. In support of the event, Academy Street will be closed from Dry Avenue to Waldo Street from 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
