Roadhouse Storytellers

June 7 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Join the Roadhouse Storytellers as they bring local and regional tellers together for their inaugural evening of stories in the garden of the Page-Walker.

Cynthia Brown lives in Summerville, NC. She has been an acclaimed performer and educator for over thee decades in NC, the South, and Europe. Cynthia uses her many talents to bring texture to her down-home Southern style. Her costumes and props add rich dimensions to each special tale.

Chris Wise considers himself a ‘story-finder’ as much as a storyteller. He finds stories–and songs–hidden within his own and others’ lives. And, from time to time, he just makes stuff up. He settled in Raleigh 30 years ago after a career as a soldier.

Kathy Gordon was born in the mountains of Western North Carolina and grew up on stories of her parents’ childhoods. Her father was a great storyteller. As an adult, Kathy taught in Asheville City Schools where she taught through stories. After retirement in 2006, she continued crafting and telling stories about life in the mountains of Western NC.

Sam Pearsall is the organizer of Roadhouse Storytellers. Sam believes we are all made of stories! Stories are what we remember and dream and how we think of each other. Every story is a whole world, and Sam believes that with any good story, the further in you go, the bigger it gets.
