The General Henry Hugh Shelton Leadership Center, located on Centennial Campus of North Carolina State University, will hold its annual Shelton Leadership Forum Friday, November 3.

The Shelton Leadership Forum, now in its 16th year, is an annual seminar series focusing on leadership development and its importance, working closely with Research Triangle Park based industries, local businesses and executives and students from area colleges and universities.

The theme of this year’s forum is “Strategies for Effective Leadership — What’s Your Game Plan?” This year’s keynote speakers include Mallory Weggemann, United States Paralympic gold medalist; Thurl Bailey, N.C. State alumnus, 1983 NCAA Men’s Basketball championship team member, 12-year NBA veteran, broadcast analyst, actor, and award-winning singer/songwriter; and Rocky Bleier, U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and four time Super Bowl
Champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL.

The center was founded at the retirement of Gen. Shelton, who served as the country’s highest ranking military officer as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. His 30-plus years of service to the United States inspired him to create a center to help bolster values-based leadership among students and in the state’s business communities. Gen. Shelton is a native of Edgecombe County, NC and an alumnus of N.C. State University.
