The Shore Grief Center to Provide New Group for Grieving Parents in Cary

The Shore Grief Center will provide a free peer-based grief support group for parents, grandparents, and siblings who have experienced the death of a child, grandchild or sibling starting in May.

The group, Bereaved Parents, is an outreach of the Central NC Chapter of Bereaved Parents – USA. This is the third such group provided by The Shore Grief Center. Other Bereaved Parent groups are located in Wake Forest and Wilson.

The Cary group will meet on the third Wednesday monthly starting on May 17, 2017. The group will meet from 7 – 8:30 pm in room C017 at Greenwood Forest Baptist Church, 110 SE Maynard Rd., Cary, NC.

There is no charge to attend the group but donations are helpful so additional outreach can happen. The group is lead by a trained facilitator who has also had a child die. The groups lead themselves with topics coming out of shared experiences. There is much evidence that this type of group helps many to overcome the deep depression that occurs after a death.
