Valor Games Southeast

May 22, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - May 25, 2017 @ 12:00 pm

From May 22 to 25, disabled veterans and disabled members of the U.S. Armed Forces will compete during Valor Games Southeast at iconic sports venues in North Carolina. Open to the public, Valor Games Southeast focuses on empowerment, connecting participants to sports as a link to the community and improved health.

Bridge II Sports is proud to host the games for the fifth consecutive year, made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and support from several community and corporate partners, including a generous event sponsorship from MetLife. Over 150 MetLife associates are volunteering at the games. MetLife will also host the closing ceremonies at its Global Technology Campus in Cary on May 25.

Valor Games Southeast draws over 120 veteran participants to the Triangle for entry- and intermediate-level competitions in 11 adaptive sports, including: cycling, power-lifting, archery, boccia, indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, air rifle, table tennis, shot-put, wheelchair basketball and kayaking.

Events will take place at the Dean Smith Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Cameron Indoor Stadium and K-Ville at Duke University and Lake Crabtree County Park.

Events are free and open to the public. For more information on Valor Games Southeast 2017 and to view a schedule of events, visit www.bridge2sports.org/valor-games-southeast/.
