Cool John Ferguson

What’s so cool about Cool John Ferguson?

Well for starters, he’s been playing guitar since age 3, and by age 5 was playing gospel music professionally.

“I learned to play naturally, hearing gospel or music on the radio and TV and records that my parents and sisters had around the house,” Ferguson said. “It didn't matter where the music came from, I just learned it all — TV  themes, blues, R&B, jazz, gospel. It all came in my ears and out through my hands.”

Since then, Ferguson has performed in concerts and major blues festivals throughout the U.S. and abroad, including the Savannah Music Festival, Lincoln Center Out-Of-Doors, Lucerne Blues Festival, and Switzerland’s Blues to Bop Festival.

He’s even collaborated with the likes of BB King, and been dubbed Guitarist of the Year not once but twice, by Living Blues Magazine.

This Saturday night, Ferguson brings his special brand of musical cool to the Garner stage, in a one-night-only performance at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15, and are available at garnerperformingartscenter.com.

It'll be "cool" to be there.
