Get a haircut, score points for the team.
From Feb. 12-20, Sport Clips locations across Western Wake are taking part in Play 4 Kay, a fundraiser benefiting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
“While this is a cause that is close to our hearts, as some of our stylists and clients have been affected, we know it affects many,” said Matt Lewis, Sport Clips area developer for North Carolina.
“We hope our clients and others rally around this effort by getting their haircut, knowing proceeds will go to a great organization with an important mission.”
Founded in 2007, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund is named for the former N.C. State University head women’s basketball coach who succumbed to breast cancer in 2009. The nonprofit works to raise funds for scientific research, and to assist the underserved.
To date, more than $5 million has been allocated for women’s cancer research.
Sport Clips will donate $1 from every MVP Experience to the fund; the MVP Experience includes a haircut, steamed towel treatment, massaging shampoo, and neck and shoulder massage.
