Primrose School locations in Wake County are working hard to connect with families at home, create normalcy for children at school, and provide peace of mind for working parents.
“It is our greatest priority to provide a safe and healthy environment to our families and our staff,” said Leslie Moore-Martinez, owner of Primrose at the Park and Primrose West Cary locations.
“We are so proud of our teachers who remain committed to our families and show up with a smile on their face.”
For students who are able to come into the building for daycare, extra safety precautions are being taken. Some of these include health and temperature checks upon entry, applying hand sanitizer before touching any surfaces and sanitizing the playground equipment after each use.
“We are honored to provide a sense of normalcy to each child and to provide peace of mind to each parent that heads off to perform their essential job,” Moore-Martinez said.
“There have been many days over the last few weeks that we have been brought to tears by the love and kindness of our parents.”
For older children, Primrose launched OnlineWithOg to support parents juggling working from home while taking care of their children. The website contains learning modules, activities, videos and music. Some of the weekly themes include caring for yourself, caring for the world and celebrating Earth Day. Access to the site is free and information is updated each week with new content and resources to help parents engage with their children and provide continual learning.
“We miss those children that are at home right now, and we know they miss us,” Moore-Martinez said.
She says the school-to-home connection is important, so Primrose teachers are able to send video messages and personal notes to their students.
“Without a doubt, our teachers are the heroes that help make the world a better place,” she said.
