Looking for a little motivation? Meet Cynthia Marshall.
President of AT&T North Carolina, and named among Cary Magazine’s Women of Western Wake, Marshall will be keynote speaker at the Garner Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Luncheon on Thursday, March 22.
Marshall shares her positive outlook on life’s adversities, from a difficult upbringing to a recent battle with colon cancer to succeeding in the workplace, all to inspire others.
“What an opportunity for local women,” said Chamber Membership Director Denise Nowell. “Ms. Marshall is in demand throughout the state, and is even featured at national conferences. Many say she is the most dynamic and motivational speaker they’ve heard.”

Known for her passion for both work and family, Marshall is married and the mother of three teenagers, and is active in civic affairs on both national and local levels.
Through energy, optimism and determination she overcame humble beginnings in a housing project to take the office of president of our state’s leading communications firm.
Her life advice includes the importance of what she calls the three P’s: passion, purpose and perspective.
“Balance is relative,” Marshall said in her 2010 Women of Western Wake interview. “I truly believe you can have it all, you just may not be able to have it all at the same time, and it may not look like what your neighbors have. But you’ve got to decide what’s truly important to you.”
The Women in Business luncheon will take place at the Grand Marquise Ballroom in Garner. General admission tickets are $45 or $35 for Garner chamber members. Register at www.garnerchamber.com by clicking on the events tab.
