75 cats is a lot of cats. But not if we pull together.
Based on the success of last year’s adoption campaign, which found homes for 77 cats in two months, Apex-based nonprofit Alley Cats and Angels, has announced its “75 by 2015” promotion.
You can help.
The all-volunteer cat rescue organization has taken in a record-breaking number of homeless cats and kittens this year, and is currently providing foster and full medical care for more than 130 of them.
“Alley Cats and Angels is calling all cat lovers!” said Tia Hagnas, founder of Alley Cats and Angels.
“As a foster home-based rescue, we can only continue to help the needy cats and kittens in our community when we have the space. And as a no-kill rescue, the only way for us to make that space is through adoptions to forever homes.
“We need your help in reaching our goal of getting 75 cats into their forever homes by the end of the year,” she said.
As part of the 75 by 2015 campaign, adoption fees will be discounted as follows: Adult cats, $40, and kittens, $65.
Alley Cats and Angels has been recognized as the 2014 Top-Rated Nonprofit Organization by GreatNonprofits, an online reviewing platform. The organization also received recent media attention for rescuing the “Tupperwear Kittens,” who were found in a sealed plastic container.
All cats and kittens adopted from Alley Cats and Angels come fully vetted, including spay/neuter surgery, FeLV/FIV test, treatment for fleas and intestinal parasites, vaccination for distemper and feline leukemia including boosters, rabies vaccination and Home Again microchip with rescue paid registration. Each pet comes with a 21-day health guarantee.
Also, every cat and kitten has been fostered in a home environment with foster families who work to understand their personalities and better ensure success in their forever home.
