During the pandemic, life’s emergencies don’t stop — and neither does the work of the American Red Cross.
The 29th Annual Red Cross Virtual Ball will take place online on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 7 – 8 p.m. The Virtual Ball will allow the community to celebrate and provide support to ensure the Red Cross can meet emergency needs in eastern North Carolina communities.
Community members may join the event at no cost, and the public can support the nonprofit’s mission by bidding on auction items including vacation stays, golf packages, jewelry, restaurant gift cards, classes, services and more.
All funds raised will be used locally by the Red Cross to alleviate human suffering by helping people affected by disasters, supporting military families, delivering life-saving blood, and teaching critical lifesaving skills.
“Join us in this unique virtual ball experience, as our work is only possible because of the generosity of our volunteers and donors,” said Red Cross spokesperson Cally Edwards, in a written statement announcing the event.
Register at event.gives/redcrossball to participate. The auction packages went live for bidding on Sunday, Aug. 9, and bidding will continue until the end of the virtual event on Aug. 13.
