The first show of the 2014 season is a doozy for the Towne Players of Garner, as they present the hilarious A Tuna Christmas, dubbed too funny to limit to Christmas.
No, the production is not about fish!
Instead, the show stars local talents Tim Stancil and Greg Flowers in a wide-open tale from Tuna, Texas.
The dynamic duo portrays every man, woman and even pet in town, as radio station news personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on Yuletide activities such as the hot competition in lawn displays.
There’s trouble for Tuna’s production of A Christmas Carol when no one pays the light bill, and you’ll meet Inita, Pearl and all your soon-to-be favorites from Tuna town.
The Towne Players are directed by Beth Honeycutt.
A Tuna Christmas opens at the Garner Performing Arts Center this Friday, Jan. 17 at 8 p.m.
Additional shows are on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 8 p.m. and next week on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 23-24 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m.
