Don’t be fooled by the suit: We learned more about our 2017 Women of Western Wake than what shows up in their professional bios.
For instance, Dr. Gayle Greene is the epitome of professionalism as executive vice president of Wake Technical Community College. But off-duty, you’ll find her enjoying beach drives on the Outer Banks with her husband, Wayde, and swims with their canine children, Fergus, Fionn and Roshin.
Greene is passionate about music, with an eclectic range of more than 32,000 songs in her iTunes collection. She loves her whiteboard and stack of colored markers, and calls herself a daydreamer by nature.
And yet, when it comes to life advice, Greene’s focus is sharp. A couple of her tips:
“Watch where your field is going. Anticipate change. Go get another credential.”
“Our success cannot make us complacent. The success we have today gives us a viable chance to be successful tomorrow.”
Hear more from Greene and the four other Women of Western Wake honorees, at the 10th annual Women of Western Wake Luncheon, set for Oct. 27 at The Umstead Hotel & Spa.
